So, I was having a conversation with my husband, Jim, and he laughed when I said I was taking 'light and frothy' books with me on holiday. I had to explain to him that light and frothy basically means modern chick lit (as far as I'm concerned) whereas, something more historical, to me anyway, takes slightly more time for me to take in. I love reading - just this week I have got through 3 books (whilst doing any number of household chores and work!) and they were historical, but when I'm on holiday, I'm very aware that it is quite rude to spend the whole time with my nose in a book - and some books are just too good and intense to put down.
So, anyway, I've now settled on 3 books (yes, I know, 3 books for a 4-night holiday!!) to take with me. They all fall in the genre of chick lit and will keep me amused, while being put downable enough for me to get on with enjoying my holiday!
Anyway, enough about reading. And on with getting ready for Butlins, Baby!!

How can days drag so slowly......?
Many people moan about how quickly time flies by. I have the solution to that. Book a holiday. Simple. Time will then decide to slow down completely and you'll be counting down the days as if they were months!!!
We're going to Butlins in Bognor Regis on Monday - 4 days to go and it's driving me mad. I'm desperate for a holiday - we have lots of holidays and mini breaks throughout the year, but because I work from home, it's so nice to escape every once in a while. Fortunately, there's only one more working day (well, for some. I work from home, so I'll probably still be working first thing on Monday morning!) and with a weekend being neatly tucked in between, the time should start to fly by (she said, hopefully!).
I'm actually starting to feel weepy at the fact that we'll be away for 4 nights next week. We have lots of happy memories of Butlins - been going there myself since I met my husband in 1992 and he's been going there since he was a young boy in the 1970s. It's like a second home to us - albeit a second home where you can go and be entertained pretty much all of the time!!! And anybody who thinks it's all knobbly knee competitions and glamorous grannies really needs to think again - although I'm sure there are plenty of knobbly knees to view and certainly lots of glamorous grannies enjoying the fun!!!
Oh well, procrastinating on here isn't going to make the time go any quicker, and it's certainly not going to get the work done - not that I haven't done loads today already - I've done my work, made 2 lots of lunches for tomorrow, made a Chinese curry that is now simmering away in the slow cooker and done various other chores - domestic goddess, I hear you say? No, just a person who works from home!
Anyway, enough of my ramblings - work to do......
